Roman Introduction |
Everybody knows something about Rome. I’m pretty sure this is on anyone’s bucket list of places to see. Trust me, you have to see it. The whole feeling was surreal to me. I was in the city that everyone only dreamt of going to, the Eternal City! I was literally walking through loads of history beneath my feet. We met with our tour guide that would be with us through out our whole trip. Rome is a big city and it has a lot to offer. From amazing touristic sights, fun night life, and that feeling of ancientness (I think I just made that up), Rome is awesome for everyone. All the buildings are old looking, but everything about this place is very unique. The art, architecture, history, churches, scenery, and everything else is like no other in my opinion. Be ready to encounter tourists EVERYWHERE you go here. Rome is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, just a heads up. As for "pick pockets" and "gypsies" that try to steal, this kind of stuff happens everywhere I feel like. However, despite the flaws you will hear about this city, just remember, there is something wrong about anywhere you choose to go. Just ignore the them and enjoy your stay!

Colosseo & Roman ForumWow, what an awesome sight. I literally felt the ghosts of Ancient Romans walking beside me in this historic place. Simply awesome and the inside of it was even cooler. I forgot to mention that we skipped all the long lines for every sight we saw. Perks of being with EF Tours! Each of our tour guides for every monument and sight had a passion for their respected area and they all spoke English very well! Around me, were what seemed like 30 different languages, truly goes to show what a wonder this place is, if people from all over come to pay a visit. The inside was massive, like going to an arena to watch a basketball or hockey game. Anyways, when we went inside the Colosseum it was so cool and fascinating! Make sure to take loads of pictures!
Not too far outside away from the Colosseum, lies the Roman Forum, ruins of several former important government buildings and temples that sits directly at the center of the city. A pretty sweet place to walk around and, of course, take photos! I remember two friends and I were walking around Rome at night and we took the subway to the Colosseum. During the day vs. at night is literally so different. During the day, there are so many people around it and at night it’s so peaceful and beautiful. Definitely check it out at both times so you can see the differences. We ate at some restaurant that was right across the street from the Colosseo and it was amazing. The view, the food, the drinks, I was in heaven. I’m pretty sure you know the phrase—when in Rome! I promise to update this when I go back to Rome! I missed out on a lot and I wish to keep my blog as up to date as possible!

Vatican CityVatican City and St. Peter’s Basilica as well as the Sistine Chapel and several other Vatican museums were all absolutely incredible. You will need your camera ready for there are tons of sight in the smallest known country in the world. Once you go inside, it is vast. There is tons of art everywhere you go and you cannot resist to take a picture of literally everything you lay your eyes on. Inside the Sistine Chapel photography isn't allowed nor is talking or making any noise, though people still do it anyway. I managed to sneak some pics, but I was afraid I was going to get my phone confiscated. I will not post pictures of the chapel out of respect.
I was only in Rome for about 2 nights. There was so much more I wanted to explore, but I feel content. On any European adventure you take, you have to come to Rome. It's a must! |
