Who am I?My name is Sami Badawi and I’m obsessed with the world, lifting heavy shit, eating, and partying. I have tons of friends and I would like to describe myself as a funny, outgoing guy, with a unique sense of humor. I love sports, my family, my friends, I love to have fun! I’m currently finishing my sophomore year of college though I just turned 19 two months ago. I live at home in Orlando, Florida, where I was born and raised.
I’m half Colombian and half Egyptian, so I get the best of both worlds. I speak like 70% Spanish, though I can almost understand it all when someone speaks to me. I’m improving everyday. I listen to Hispanic television, I watch YouTube videos in Spanish, I speak to my mother in Spanish or my grandparents, I do what I can. Also, where I live in Orlando, almost everybody is Hispanic. The population of Hispanic people here is vast so it’s perfect for practice. As for my Arabic; not even close to the amount of Spanish I can comprehend and speak. My dad never really taught me growing up, unfortunately. However, that doesn’t mean I’m not gonna try to learn along the road! My love for traveling started actually fairly recently this past Spring 2015. I went on a study abroad trip for 10 days in Italy and Greece. Honestly one of the best times of my life. I learned so much about the Italians and Greeks solely by being there. The best kind of education is actually witnessing it with your own eyes, rather than sitting on your ass reading about it in some classroom. When this trip ended, I wanted to do it all over again, I missed it so much. I plan to study abroad again in Spain, this time for a semester so I can live over there on my own and actually live it up. I seriously can't wait! |
